A.R. Gurney’s play, Love Letters, will be presented at 7 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 6, at Silverton High School theater as a benefit for the Silverton Senior Center.
Back in September 2008 a few people said it could not be done. They said Silverton Senior Center could not raise $100,000 to match a Ford Family Foundation challenge grant. Well, look at us now. Not only did we match it, we went far beyond that amount.
Seemingly undaunted by the need to raise $30,000 in less than 30 days, more than 75 optimistic supporters of the Silverton Area Senior Center showed up for its ground-breaking ceremony Aug. 18.
