Amy Marie Yount of Silverton received an award at the Oregon Fire Service Meritorious Awards recently. She works part time for Dallas Emergency Medical Service as a paramedic. Her department, along with Dallas Fire Department, Falls City Fire Department, Life Fight and Oregon National Guard received a Unit Citation for their rescue of a fallen logger. Members of the Emergency Medical Services team who responded to the call are, left to right, Kim Storms, Michael Hasson and Amy Yount. Yount also works at Silverton Hospital in the emergency room.
