Bee-friendly advice offered

Learn all about bees including how to build bee boxes and grow bee friendly plants at the Silverton Farmers’ Market on May 23.

Ryan Basile, a hobby bee keeper, will be available from 10 a.m. to noon to answer questions and demonstrate some of the tools of the trade.  Basile has a bachelor of science in Ornamental Horticulture and has seven years of beekeeping experience.

There will be a coloring contest for kids.

The Farmers’ Market is open 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays now until October in Town Square Park,  Main and Fiske streets. For questions,  contact Courtney at 503-816-5046.
