First Citizen Banquet

This year the 39th annual Silverton Chamber of Commerce First Citizen Banquet begins at 5:45 p.m. Feb. 20 at The Oregon Garden. Tickets, $35, are available at the Silverton Chamber of Commerce, 426 S. Water St.

Ambassadors from the chamber of commerce visited homes, businesses and schools Jan. 7 to announce award recipients to be honored.

This year’s recipients are Denny and Genie Stoll as First Citizens; Silverton Fitness owned by Mike Thompson as Business of the Year; retiring Silver Falls School District Superintendent Craig Roessler for Distinguished Service; Steve Potter for Lifetime Achievement, and Hallie Day as Future First Citizen.

For stories about each recipient and their accomplishments see the Feb. 1 edition of Our Town.
