Mount Angel 2012 award winners announced

The Mount Angel Chamber of Commerce has announced the 2012 winners who will be honored at the 30th annual First Citizen Banquet on Feb. 25:

First Citizen – John Golly

Volunteer of the Year  – Verna Scharbach

Business of the Year – Mount Angel Towers

Lifetime Achievement – Orville Roth

Future First Citizen – Sadie Manley

Service to Youth – Randy Traeger

Mayor Margaret Hoffer Award – Rick Schiedler

Stories on the honorees will be in the Feb. 15 Our Town Life.

Sponsored by the Mount Angel Chamber of Commerce, the First Citizen Banquet begins at 6 p.m. Monday, Feb. 25 at The Mount Angel Festhalle. The dinner will be caterd by the Glockenspiel Restaurant. Tickets are $30 and must be purchased by Feb. 20. Tickets are available at the Mount Angel branches of West Coast, US or Wells Fargo banks.

SFSD hires new principal

The Silver Falls School District has hired an administrator from the Salem-Keizer School District to become the new principal for Robert Frost School.
