Anderson earns cross country recognition

Silverton High School sophomore Morgan Anderson took 24th place at the OSAA 5A State Cross Country Meet with a time of 20 minutes and 25 seconds, earning her an All-State Honorable Mention.

She took third place at the district cross-country meet. She also finished 10th place at the Nike Pre National Meet, third place at the Silver Falls Invitational and fourth place at the Champoeg Invitational.

Her time of 19 minutes and 33 seconds places her in fourth place of Silverton High Schools top 40 all-time list.

Silverton High School Cross Country Coach Paul Benz said 40 athletes competed in cross country this year.

For the boys’ team, Benny Zeferino received All-League Honorable Mention and Morgan Anderson received first team All League.
