The new Mount Angel Festhalle opened for business in a ribbon cutting ceremony on Sept. 9 that drew hundreds of people to view the spacious, modern building. As architect Victor Madge put it, “It will just get better and better…”
The Mount Angel Community Foundation is closer to reaching its goal of raising $2 million to build a new Mount Angel Community Building. In November, the foundation received a $200,000 grant from the Meyer Memorial Trust and $79,000 grant from the Mount Angel Oktoberfest board, bringing its total to about $1.5 million.
The proposed new community center for Mount Angel will get a big boost when the Oktoberfest Board of Directors awards a $50,000 grant to the Mount Angel Community Foundation May 17. The money is designated for the building fund.
