Vote for Silverton – eight times

The city of Silverton needs your vote.

It not only needs you to vote once but eight times. And it is hoping you will encourage your friends, your relatives, your long lost relatives, old college classmates and even strangers to vote for it too.

Silverton Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Stacy Palmer is encouraging people to vote once a day during National Business Week, May 3-10.

Silverton is one of two finalists in the Small Business Revolution on Main Street contest and is competing against Wabash, Ind. Voters will decide the winning city by visiting the website smallbusinessrevolution.org during National Business Week.

The winning city will earn a prize worth $500,000 that includes: Website development, logo creation, email marketing, printed products and apparel and social media marketing for local businesses, plus $250,000 for physical updates to selected businesses which can include new business facades, landscaping, equipment, aesthetic updates and construction material.

On Friday, May 6, the Silverton Chamber of Commerce will be hosting a “Let’s Vote for Silverton” rally at 6:30 p.m. at Town Square Park. Bring your phone, iPad or laptop – if it has WiFi – to vote.

Participants will get stickers that may get them discounts at local stores during First Friday.
