Getting local items for holiday meals and parties or gifts just got easier.

Dec. 5 a Holiday Pop-up Co-op will be held at Seven Brides Tap Room on First Street from noon to 4 p.m.  The event is organized by Silverton’s Local Motive Co-op, a food advocacy group.

“The Silverton Co-op’s mission is to be a community-owned grocery store that provides convenient access to a variety of locally raised or produced foods and other products and to foster a healthy and economically viable environment for our farmers and our community,” group member Jason Codner explained.

The event, the second of four “pop-ups” the group has planned, will feature local foods from more than 15 producers and farmers including honey, eggs, pork, tallow and cheese as well as such as locally ptoduced skin care items, jams and plants.

“The event is open to everyone and the community is invited to shop with us and experience what a food co-op can bring to our town,” Codner said.
