Art fest poster unveiling moves to new location

There’s something new this year for the Fine Arts Festival Unveiling Event – the venue has been changed to the former Cafe Trio at 405 N. Water St. in Silverton.

The party will be on Friday, June 12, from 7 to 9 p.m. As in the past, wine, hors d’oeuvres and live music is provided for the price of admission, $10 per person.

The event is a fundraiser for the ninth annual Silverton Fine Arts Festival, Aug. 15 and 16 in Coolidge & McClaine Park.

Each year festival organizers, Silverton Arts Association, select an artist to create a special artwork for the festival poster and t-shirts.

This year’s featured artist is Patti Battin. She will present each Unveiling Event ticket holder with a signed print of the poster, which is a tribute to local artist Tom Allen.

The Silverton Fine Arts Festival fills the park with booths with works by juried artists,  hands-on art projects for both adults and children, a selection of diverse menu choices, and continuous musical entertainment.
