Show Mercy: Benefit event

When Suzie and John Wayland of Pomegranate heard about the work of Mike and Lori Salley of Albany through their nonprofit agency, Show Mercy International, they were inspired to do something to help.

The Waylands invite community members to attend a fund-raiser to benefit Show Mercy, whose work includes rescuing children from poverty, violence and prostitution and taking them to safe places like Hope Children’s Home in Uganda.

The event is 5:30 to 8 p.m. Sunday, May 17 at the Wolf Building, 201 E. Main St. There will be wine donated by Vitis Ridge Winery, food by Stomp-N-Grounds and music by Mario Diaz. There also will be a silent auction and a wine wall. Tickets are $15.

“We would like the community to come together for some really great music, wine and food,” Suzie said, “and show their support for this amazing cause.”

The Waylands appreciate Mo Salem for donating the Wolf Building, Sue and Paul Nida of Heron Grapics for printing tickets and posters and Julia Podesta of Podesta Designs for designing the posters and ads.

For information or to buy tickets, call Suzie at 503-873-7307 or go to Pomegranate at 106 N. First St.
