Creekside Grill: Dining with a creek view

With its sleek contemporary decor and view of Silver Creek, Creekside Grill in Silverton has become the restaurant to try out. A seafood or ribs meal is as casual or as romantic as you want to make it.

Look for calamari as an appetizer; the Silver Creek salad of pears, candied walnuts, golden raisins and Gorgonzola cheese with greens; Baja fish tacos (their #1 best-seller); and a beefeater’s club sandwich of pastrami, London broil steak, two cheeses and horseradish mayonnaise on grilled rye bread.

Tomato Gorgonzola soup is available every day. “It’s our house soup,” said owner Manny Rodrigues.

“Thick and zesty; it’s delicious.”

A daily dinner special, such as blackened prime rib, is featured in the evening and there’s always soup of the day. Responding to popular demand, Rodrigues offers Seafood Sundays now with two special seafood items in addition to the regular dinner menu.

“We have Halibut Neptune – baked halibut fillet stuffed with shrimp and crab – it’s one of our most popular dishes,” Rodrigues said.

Beef-lovers find much to like here, too. “We have a 20-ounce rib eye steak that causes people’s eyes to pop, it’s that big.

I would invite anyone to come down and have our rib eye. I would put it up against any other restaurant’s in the Valley.”

Families with children are welcome. The kids’ menu features $5 entrees kids love.

Desserts change frequently. Crème brulee, key lime cheesecake, carrot cake or a monster brownie topped with ice cream may tickle your fancy.
The full-service lounge stays open late on Friday and Saturday where you can listen to live music and enjoy a local wine.
In the winter, Creekside is open from
5 p.m. to 10 p.m. seven days a week. It is located at 242 S. Water St., Silverton. Look for the stairs next to the palm tree or take the elevator inside the Hartman Building. For reservations call 503-873-9700.
