Letter to the Editor: Harmony Fund

As the 2011 Mount Angel Oktoberfest comes to a close it was my great honor to volunteer our location, Paul’s Power Equipment and Workwear, for the drawing for a Stihl chainsaw. All the ticket sales of $800 were donated to the Silverton High School Harmony Fund.

The Harmony Fund is set up to pay for elective classes with fees at the high school that due to financial difficulties some students are unable to take.

This was all made possible with the cooperation of the Oktoberfest organization, especially Bill Bischoff, John Gooley and Jerry Lauzon who allowed us to open our storefront and driveway during the festival.

If you missed out on this event and would like to give to The Harmony Fund in the future, please contact Silverton High School.  Once again, thanks to Oktoberfest and all who bought tickets.
