The house that Trojans built

Mt. Angel’s Kennedy Trojans finished the 2009 season as second in the state for 2A football, but their dream season was not over. They made another dream come true. Five members of the team accompanied by coach and Spanish teacher David Stavros and his wife, Gina, went to Lima, Peru over Christmas break to dedicate a home for a family that was built with money the team raised earlier this year.

Silverton girls finish sixth in Class 5A tournament

By James Day The Silverton High girls basketball team finished sixth in the OSAA Class 5A tournament last week at Gill Coliseum in Corvallis. The Foxes fell to Mid-Wiillamette Conference rival Corvallis 41-40 in Wednesday’s quarterfinals, downed Pendleton 54-42 on Thursday and lost Friday to Springfield 53-43 in the game for fourth place.
