Travelers’ Choice Award goes to Oregon Garden Resort

The Oregon Garden Resort has received Tripadvisor’s Travelers’ Choice Award for 2023. The award is a highly regarded within the hospitality industry. Only the top 10 percent of hotels worldwide receive the honor.

Winners have earned positive traveler reviews and ratings over the past year.

“This achievement is a direct result of the hard work, dedication, and passion of our entire team,” said Peggy Bell, Oregon Garden Resort General Manager. “As a family-owned business, we are so grateful for all of the support we’ve received from our valued guests and loyal staff. Court action: Pfeifer brothers challenge hazmat emergency clean-up

Gonzalez arraigned, two more counts added to sex abuse charges

During Silverton Police Officer Tony Gonzalez’s July 22 arraignment on charges of sexually abusing a minor, Judge Joseph Ochoa announced the grand jury had added two additional counts, bringing the total to three counts of first-degree sexual abuse and four counts of third-degree sexual abuse.

First-degree sexual abuse is a Measure 11 crime and carries a mandatory sentence, in this case 75 months for each count. Measure 11 was a 1994 ballot initiative that set minimum mandatory sentences for serious crimes.
