CLOSINGS

Red Thai Room

Craig Gereau, owner and manager of the Red Thai Room at 211 Oak St., Silverton, closed his establishment in September and moved to Southern California. The Red Thai Room with its full-service lounge was known for its décor, authentic Thai cuisine, and the gong that was played each time a new table of customers was seated.

In the two years since opening, the Red Thai Room featured live music on occasion and had well-attended special occasion dinners. The closing leaves Silverton with one Thai restaurant, the Thai Dish Cuisine at 209 N. Water.

Tootsies Shoes

Tootsies, the colorful Silverton shoe store, has closed due to health-related issues.

Jenny Roth, the owner and manager of the shoe and sock store, is currently in California and had friends help close up. Roth is the niece of the owners of the Tootsies chain.

Tootsies was Silverton’s only exclusively footwear store. The 107 S. First St. business opened last year.
