There is something deeply sacred about every single person.
If we become blind to this, we end up treating people as if they were disposable objects and turn this beautiful world of ours into a wasteland.
The behavioral sciences tell us that when two people converse, only a relatively small part of communication is in their words.
So much more is communicated by their personal presence, the feelings, emotions and tone that hand, eye, gesture – the whole body – bespeaks.
We are looking into the souls of people who can be fired up by the individually leaping flames of divine love.
I easily remember years ago when living near Detroit, Mich. where many of us felt the great need in our church community to address the discrimination practices existing in our racially separated neighborhoods and to resolve these abuses.
Those friends who stood up for tolerance and brotherhood in difficult times, we bonded with for the rest of our lives.
God smiles when we treat people with the dignity He breathed into them.
In Arizona years ago, we distributed food and clothing year round to the inner city poor and homeless. We were accompanied by our children and friends’ children – special friends who coached our kids’ sports teams, etc.
Bringing enjoyment to God is the purpose of our lives. When you fully understand His truth, you will never again have a problem with feeling insignificant.
God smiles when we do good works, which He has prepared in advance for us to do and then an amazing thing happens.
When we give God enjoyment, our own hearts are overwhelmed with joy.
All these precious friends we met along God’s path are the salt of the earth and they will always be an inspiration for how to succeed in discovering God’s smiling faces and peace in our own lifetime.
