A Mt. Angel woman and a Silverton man have died following a head-on collision in Salem Monday.
According to the Salem Police Department, dispatch received a call at 10:09 a.m. about two pickup trucks which collided head-on on the 1100 block of Cordon Rd SE.
Two occupants in one of the vehicles were found deceased upon the arrival of emergency responders, while three occupants in the other vehicle were transported with serious injuries to Salem Health.
On Wednesday, after notifying next of kin, authorities named the decedents as Blanca Mariela Franco-Ramos, 28, of Mt. Angel and Heriberto Rangel-Rangel, 46, of Silverton.
Police said the crash remains under investigation and at this time no arrests have been made or citations issued.
Cordon Rd SE was closed until approximately 2:15 p.m. Monday as a result of the crash.
