Flatterers will tell you exactly what you want to hear in order to advance a specific agenda and false prophets will lead you astray based on half-truths and innuendo disguised as “facts.”
Whether on the Web, on the streets or in the paper, true to form, Silverton does not lack for community involvement. The drawn-out process of determining – from an array of choices – how best to proceed with a downtown rejuvenation project – is a prime example of the type of citizenry that characterizes Silverton.
I am personally disappointed at the shameful level of discourse that continues to take place regarding “concepts” to enhance downtown Silverton. Representations both verbal and in print continue to contain gross distortions of truth, hyperbole and inaccuracies.
