The Mount Angel Community Building came a little closer to occupancy Saturday, Aug. 13 with the efforts of a team of more than 40 volunteers. The work of the volunteers will assure that the new building will be ready for Oktoberfest Sept. 15 – 18.
The Ford Family Foundation last week announced it will grant $250,000 toward construction of the new Mount Angel Community Building – a major boost for the project.
Slayden Community Fund recently donated $200,000 to the Mt. Angel Community Foundation towards the Community Building’s construction.
Mt. Angel Oktoberfest President John Gooley has received letters in support of constructing a new Oktoberfest Community Building from the Mt. Angel Fire District, St. Mary Catholic Church, Mt. Angel School District, Wilco, Mt. Angel Development Programs and the Mt. Angel Chamber of Commerce.
