Mount Angel Schools Superintendent Bob Young and Silver Falls School District Superintendent Craig Roessler frequently hear rumblings of financial storms about to create havoc on their school districts.
After 35 years as an educator, Craig Roessler is about done with “finals” in his “senior” year. Retirement is close at hand. The personable and highly-respected educator has, according to most who know him, made the dean’s list as superintendent of the Silver Falls School District.
Budget cuts.
Federal and state mandates for school reform. Personnel problems. Changing technology and more budget cuts. Unifying several school districts to become the Silver Falls School District. Attempting to pass a bond. Failing to pass a bond. Finally, passing a bond. Building a new high school… As the superintendent of the Silver Falls School District, Craig Roessler has had myriad situations cross his desk – some easy to fix and some taking time.
