SHS Homecoming: Future Foxes, alumni invited to join in

By Jordan DooleySHS Homecoming Court

Cob webs and spiders dangling from the ceilings and dragons looming in the shadows will greet students in Silverton High School halls during homecoming week, Oct. 19-24.

The homecoming football game pits the SHS Foxes against the Dallas Dragons, Oct. 23, 7 p.m.

“This year’s theme will definitely make a great Homecoming, and also a great start to our new high school,” said ASB President Hallie Day.

“For the first time in years Silverton High can celebrate without an entire grade isolated at another campus,” said sophomore Anna Rediske.

The Homecoming “Dragon Slayer” Dance will be Oct. 24 in the high school commons.

Homecoming court is comprised of freshmen Toby Roth and Regan Johnston, sophomores Torrey Rogness and Erika Sinn, juniors Pierre Paradis and Callan Christman and seniors Adam Carrol, Kyle Schurter, Josque Amezquita, Tyler Bellando, Sierra Allen, Alanna Henry, Hannah Deede and Tess Armstrong.

Community members are invited to attend the pep rally bonfire Oct. 19 behind the school’s Pine Street soccer fields, and the parade Oct. 23, which starts at 4 p.m. at First and Lewis and goes down First to Eugene Field School. A Future Foxes Fair follows the parade.

“We are all extremely excited to have both our parade and bonfire back this year. We look forward to the involvement of alumni and younger students,” said ASB Advisor Paula Cross.
