Veteran Mount Angel officer earns rank of sergeant

Jeff Charilloz, a veteran of 17 years with the Mount Angel Police Department, has been appointed by the City Council as the city’s first police officer to have the rank of sergeant.

Charpilloz graduated from Silverton High School in 1992 and went on the earn an associate’s degree in criminal justice at Chemeketa Community College in 1997. He graduated from the Oregon State Police Academy in 1999.

He earned advanced certificates at the police academy subsequently. His appointment as sergeant was effective Sept. 6. He lives in Silverton with his family.
