Golden tribute: Hospital auxiliary plans gala

Silverton Hospital Auxiliary members are preparing to celebrate the organization\'s 50th anniversary with \Music wafting through gardens, dancers twirling across the floor, lively conversation and the feeling of holiday merriment signal the Silverton Hospital Auxiliary’s Gala Holiday Celebration, taking place this year on Saturday, Dec. 13 at The Oregon Garden’s Frank J. Schmidt Pavilion.

The 30-year tradition continues with the theme “A Golden Tribute,” celebrating 50 years of service to the community by the auxiliary. 2008 also marks Silverton Hospital’s 90th anniversary.

The annual event is a fundraiser for the hospital. Last year’s contribution went toward purchase of a new 64-slice CT scanner and helped buy a $15,000 infant hearing test system for the Family Birth Center.

The evening begins with a social hour at 6 p.m., followed by a catered dinner by Roth’s Catering at 7 p.m. Guests will enjoy light dinner music and after-dinner dancing provided by the Grand Jazz Band.
Silver Falls Vineyards, St. Josef Wine Cellar, Vitas Ridge Wine and Willamette Valley Vineyards will once again participate, and Seven Brides Brewery is a new addition to the line-up. Wine stations will be set up in a quiet room where people can visit away from the music.

Reservations for the event are required with seating limited to 400 guests. Tickets are $40 per person and can be purchased at several locations throughout the area including, West Cost Bank in Mt. Angel; Silver Falls Bank and West Coast Bank in Silverton; Silverton Hospital Gift Shop, Silverton Hospital Community Services Center located across the street from the hospital; and The Source at Wellspring Medical Center in Woodburn. Call 503-873-1789 or 503-873-1786 to purchase tickets by credit card. Reservations can be made for tables of eight.
