Ho-ho-holidays: Events offer many opportunities to get into the spirit

Photographs by Jim Kinghorn and Joanna Traeger

Clear skies helped Silverton light up in style at the annual tree lighting ceremony during December’s First Friday festivities; Seven Brides gave men an opportunity to shop for their significant others at the second annual Men’s Night Out; and kids made crafts at Silverton Together’s Celebration of Families.

Kris Kringle arrived in downtown Mount Angel on Dec. 4. After lighting the Christmas tree, he listened to children’s wishes; guests enjoyed free hot cocoa and Christmas cookies, participated in arts and crafts activities and each child received a bag of candy. The event was sponsored by the Mount Angel Chamber of Commerce.
