Letter to the Editor: Word choice was unsavory

“A word is not a bird. A bird once flown-you can never catch it.”

The write-up about our company name change within the “Man About Town” (in the  Jan. 15 Our Town) should have been a positive community piece of info, but instead was very disrespectful of the professionalism of my brokers and office.

To refer to my company and brokers a “property pimpin’ posse” was, I’m sure, intended to be amusing, but is in our minds a tasteless remark.

Many comments have been received from our friends, customers and clients regarding the negative connotation of the terms used in the article.

We have consistently over the years maintained the # 1 spot in our local real estate market and doubt our customers and clients see us that way.

I believe a printed apology to my brokers, management and myself is in order.

Connie Hinsdale,
NW Oregon Realty Group

Editor’s Note: The Man says “I feel terrible that you were offended. It was intended to be humorous wordplay and never my intention to be hurtful. I’m sorry.”
