Silverton Chamber announces 2010 First Citizen honorees

Bill Cummins was honored to be chosen for Distinguished Service.       They are the people who go above and beyond to serve their community. And once a year, citizens of Silverton gather to honor and thank them for their dedication to their community.

The 40th annual Silverton Chamber of Commerce First Citizen Banquet begins at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 19 at The Oregon Garden. Tickets, $35, are available at the Silverton Chamber of Commerce, 426 S. Water St.
Ambassadors from the chamber of commerce visited homes and businesses Jan. 6 to announce award recipients to be honored. They surprised winners with balloons and a certificate.

Terry Thomas was surprised to learn he was named 2010 First CitizenThis year’s recipients are Terry Thomas as First Citizen; Pomegranate owned by Suzie Couraud as Business of the Year; Bill Cummins for Distinguished Service and Doug and Antonia Jenkins for Lifetime Achievement.

As of deadline, the Future First Citizen had not been selected.
